Trevor Noah is a South African comedian, television and radio host, and actor. He currently hosts The Daily Show, a late-night television talk show on Comedy Central. Born a Crime is his best-selling memoir which tells the story of his early life as the child of a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother, born in South Africa during the waning days of apartheid.

Born a Crime is available to read (or listen to) in English and Spanish in preparation for Salem Reads, February 2023. In addition, multiple copies of the eBook and eAudiobook are available to download and enjoy on the cloudLibrary and Libby apps.

Salem Reads is a community reads project that invites everyone in Salem to read the same book, take part in discussions, and enjoy related programs each year during February. The Salem Public Library Foundation sees Salem Reads as an opportunity to increase the Library’s visibility, and act as a catalyst to bring the community together for discussions relevant to our time. Our selection of Born a Crime, allows broad community engagement as we offer programs on topics of importance to our city.

The display will then travel to other local libraries: in March (Stayton), April (Silver Falls, Silverton), and May (Scio).
If you would like to purchase a piece of artwork, please contact the artist directly. All pieces sold will remain on exhibit until the traveling show ends in late June.
