All community members are invited to join a variety of free community gatherings in February 2024. Program details are in the Salem Reads 2024 brochure and the Salem Library website. A full event calendar can also be viewed below.
Zoraida Córdova has written more than two dozen novels and short stories, including Valentina Salazar Is Not a Monster Hunter, and Star Wars: The High Republic: Convergence. Her 2016 novel Labyrinth Lost, book one in the Brooklyn Brujas trilogy, won an International Latino Book Award.

The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina is available to read (or listen to) in English and Spanish in preparation for Salem Reads, February 2024. In addition, multiple copies of the eBook and  English eAudiobook are available to download and enjoy on the cloudLibrary and Libby apps.

Salem Reads is a community reads project that invites everyone in Salem to read the same book, take part in discussions, and enjoy related programs each year during February. The Salem Public Library Foundation sees Salem Reads as an opportunity to increase the Library’s visibility, and act as a catalyst to bring the community together for discussions relevant to our time. Salem Reads Art Exhibit 2024

Each year Salem Reads hosts the Salem Reads Art Exhibit in the Main Branch Art Hall.
This year we are teaming up with the Salem Art Association to will curate the exhibit. 
Artwork will be on display in the Main Salem Public Library Art Hall (1st Floor) from January 30 through March 3, 2024.
The display will then travel to other local libraries: in March (Stayton), April (Silver Falls, Silverton), and May (Scio).
​If you would like to purchase a piece of artwork, please contact the artist directly. All pieces sold will remain on exhibit until the traveling show ends in late June.
