The Salem Public Library Foundation Board manages the Endowment to ensure a strong future for the Salem Public Library.
With the City of Salem's commitment to provides strong public support of the Library, the Foundation can continue to support meaningful enhancements that are outside the ability of the taxpayers to fund.

Endowment
The Endowment is a permanent fund (established in 1981), from which the principal is invested and only the investment earnings are spent. Through careful stewardship and management, the principal provides a source of continuous and dependable financial support used to ensure funding for Foundation operations and library enhancements.
A strong Endowment allows the Foundation to know that a certain amount will be available each year to cover the most pressing needs. Giving to the Endowment allows the Salem Public Library Foundation to plan for the future with confidence. Cash gifts designated for the Foundation’s Endowment are welcomed, as are a variety of other kinds of gifts. Gifts to the endowment can be made during your lifetime or as part of an estate plan.
